Common questions

Is my resume uploaded anywhere?
No. The comparison runs in JavaScript on your own device: the text you paste is never sent anywhere, never stored, and is discarded when you close the tab. To be exact about what you would see in your browser’s network tab — like every page here, this one sends an anonymous page-view event (and Google Analytics, only if you accepted cookies). Neither carries your resume or the job description. See our privacy policy.
How are the keywords chosen?
The tool takes one-, two-, and three-word phrases from the job description, drops common English and job-posting filler (“responsible”, “candidate”, “team player”), and ranks what is left by how often it appears and how early it shows up. Requirements stated near the top of a posting usually matter more.
Is a higher percentage always better?
No. Past roughly 70–80% you are usually padding rather than matching, and stuffed keywords read badly to the human who sees the resume next. Cover the terms that genuinely describe your work and stop.
How is this different from the ATS score?
The ATS check looks at your resume as a whole — parsing, formatting, structure, bullet quality — and needs the file. This tool does one narrow job against one posting, in your browser, from pasted text.
What should I do with the missing terms?
Work the true ones into the experience bullets where you actually did that thing, rather than adding a keyword list. If a term does not describe your work, leave it out. For layouts that parse cleanly, use an ATS-friendly template, and see the guides for role-specific advice.
