Most fresher job hunts fail at the filter, not the resume. Here is how to cut Naukri, LinkedIn, Instahyre, Wellfound and company career pages down to roles that will genuinely consider 0–1 years, and what to check before you send anything.

Where freshers actually get hired
There is no single best site, and the mistake is spending every evening on whichever one you opened first. Each of these does one thing well. Set all five up once, then work them in order of effort: the boards for volume, the career pages for the roles you want, and a referral for the one you want most — which is a separate skill worth learning on its own.
Naukri
Volume. Most Indian fresher openings are posted here first.
Set the experience slider to 0 years, not 0-1. A posting tagged 1+ will not appear at 0, and that is the point — you want the ones actually tagged fresher.
Use Freshness: last 3 days. A four-week-old posting has usually been filled or abandoned.
Leave the salary filter off. Plenty of fresher postings leave CTC blank, and a salary filter drops every one of them.
Save the search and switch the alert on, so tomorrow's postings come to you instead of you re-running the filter.
Worth knowing. Recruiters search the Naukri profile database directly, not only their own applicant lists. Keeping the profile current is half the work.
LinkedIn
Startups, product companies, and finding the person to follow up with.
Experience level: tick Internship and Entry level together. A lot of fresher roles get posted under Internship.
Date posted: Past 24 hours or Past week.
Sort by Most recent, not Most relevant, or you will scroll the same postings for days.
Save each search as its own alert, per role. One alert for everything is one alert you stop reading.
Worth knowing. The experience-level tag is set by whoever posted the job, so it is often wrong in both directions. Read the description before trusting the label.
Instahyre
Tech roles where the recruiter comes to you.
Set experience to 0-1 years and add every skill you can actually demonstrate.
Fill the profile completely. On a curated platform the profile is the application, so a half-filled one does not get surfaced.
Put a realistic expected CTC. An inflated number quietly filters you out of roles you would have taken.
Worth knowing. Far fewer openings than Naukri. Treat it as a background channel you set up once, not a daily grind.
Wellfound
Early-stage startups, including remote roles open to India.
Filter to Full-time and the 0-1 year or entry-level band.
Complete your Wellfound profile first — you apply with the profile, not with an uploaded resume.
Read the compensation range carefully. Some listings weight the offer towards equity, which pays nothing in month one.
Worth knowing. Startup listings go stale quietly. Months old with no repost usually means closed, whatever the page says.
Company career pages
The least crowded route, because there is no feed to scroll.
Search the words companies actually use for fresher intake: Graduate Engineer Trainee, Management Trainee, Associate, Early Careers, Campus, University Graduate.
Most career pages run on a handful of hiring systems, so you can search across them on Google. The strings are in the next section.
Apply on the company page even when you also saw the role on a board. It is the same system, and it is the version the recruiter opens first.
Worth knowing. A careers page with no dates on its listings tells you nothing about whether a role is live. Apply anyway, but do not count on it.
Before the filters matter
A good filter still sends a resume the parser cannot read.
Everything here assumes your resume survives the first automated pass. Check how it parses and which keywords from a posting are missing, then close the gaps. It takes about a minute and the first scan needs no account.
Job titles for the same work vary by company, so searching one title hides most of the openings. Paste the board line into Naukri or Instahyre, the boolean line into LinkedIn’s job search box, and the Google line into Google to reach career pages directly.

“3 years required” — when to apply anyway
Some of those postings take freshers and some never will, and the difference is readable from the text. The years line is the least reliable sentence in a job description. The requirements list is the honest part.
Apply anyway when
The title says Trainee, Associate, Graduate or Engineer I, and only the experience field says 1-3. Recruiters reuse a posting template and forget that field.
The description says 0-3 years, up to 3 years or 1-3 years. The bottom of a range is a real entry point.
The requirements are written as knowledge, not as record: "familiarity with", "exposure to", "understanding of", "good grasp of".
It is a bulk or walk-in posting — multiple openings, a drive date, a venue. Those are built around training people up.
The company runs a named graduate or trainee programme you can find on its own careers page.
You match most of the listed tools and can show at least one of them in a project someone else can open.
Spend the time elsewhere when
The title carries Senior, Lead, II, III, Specialist or SME. The years are not the obstacle there, the scope is.
The requirements describe ownership: "has shipped", "has owned", "has led", "has managed a team", "has handled clients independently".
It asks for a set number of years on one named platform in a production setting, plus a certification.
The screening questions ask for a notice period, a relieving letter or your current CTC. Those are written for someone already employed.
It says immediate joiner with relevant domain experience. That phrase means they are backfilling someone who left.
You cannot name one thing you would do in week one. That is a better test than the years line.
The rule underneath both lists. If the only thing you are missing is the number of years, apply, and use one line of the cover letter to say what you built instead. If what you are missing is the scope — owning, leading, a domain you have never touched — that hour buys you two applications you can actually win.
Check these four before you apply
Each of these has ended a fresher’s first job badly, and each is answerable before you spend an evening on the application.
Eligibility
Batch year. Many drives are open to a single passing-out year.
Degree and branch, including whether a diploma or a distance degree counts.
Minimum percentage or CGPA, and whether it applies to 10th and 12th as well.
Active backlogs and education gaps. Ask before the interview, not after the offer.
Location
The office city, not the posting city. They are often different.
Work from office, hybrid or remote, and whether that is fixed or "for now".
Whether relocation is expected, and whether anything is paid towards it.
What the commute costs you every day, in money and in hours.
Bond or service agreement
How long the commitment runs and what the stated penalty is.
Whether that penalty still applies if the company ends the employment.
Ask for the agreement in writing before you accept, and read it yourself once.
No employer needs to hold your original certificates. Keep them.
Shift and pay structure
Rotational or night shifts, week-offs, and whether transport is provided.
Training period: how long it runs, and whether it pays a stipend or full salary.
Probation length, and what changes at the end of it.
CTC versus what reaches your account — read the breakup before comparing two offers.
One thing that is never negotiable. A real employer does not ask you for money — not a registration fee, not a training deposit, not a refundable security amount. If money is requested at any stage, it is not a job. How to spot a fake offer.
Fewer than you think, done properly. Ten applications where the resume uses the posting's own language will beat fifty identical ones, because the first filter is a keyword match and no person is involved yet. Five to ten tailored applications plus one follow-up on something you sent earlier in the week is a realistic daily target.
Is LinkedIn Easy Apply worth using?
It is worth using, but it is the cheapest signal you can send and everyone else is sending it too. Use it for volume on roles you are a clear fit for, and use the company career page for the handful you actually want. If the posting names a recruiter, applying and then messaging them is a different move altogether.
Should I apply to a posting asking for 1-3 years when I have none?
Yes when the gap is years and the match is skills, because those ranges are frequently padded template text. No when the gap is scope: anything asking you to have owned, shipped or led something is not a fresher role in disguise. The signals for each are listed on this page.
Do walk-in interviews still happen, and are they worth the trip?
They do, particularly for support, BPO, sales and bulk technical hiring, and they are one of the few routes where you meet a person on day one instead of an applicant tracking system. Check the date, venue and document list in the posting, carry printed copies, and never pay anything to attend one.
Should I put an expected CTC on my Naukri profile?
Put a realistic range rather than leaving it blank or inflating it. Blank drops you out of searches that use the field, and a number well above the band for the role drops you out of jobs you would have accepted. You can revise it at any time.
How do I tell whether a posting is still open?
Check the posted date and whether it has been reposted, look for the same role on the company's own careers page, and treat anything over a month old with no repost as closed. Logging what you sent and when is the only reliable way to see the pattern, which is what an application tracker is for.
